LED TV and the difference between the different LED TVs

Gone are the days when TV could have been easily bought. Now it has become as complicated as it is to choose the right data plan for your mobile phone. Before the flat TV screens came into the market, the only consideration for buying a cathode ray tube(CRT) TV was how much space you have in your home and how much huge do you want the TV to be. Quality did matter but the most important was how many inches you could get for how much money.

When searching for the latest TVs, the same points are considered. There was always a plasma TV versus LCD Tv until LED Tv entered the market. Thought it has made its position in the market still, people are confused about what it really is. It is actually a different form of LCD Tv which uses LEDs as its light source.

All these TVs are backlit as LCD doesn’t produce the light of its own. So, for producing an image on a panel display, the pixels are backlit by some other lighting source. Currently, you’ll see CCFL technology is being used as a backlight source. This delivers good brightness, great color, and decent contrast. But there are not so great blacks. But the LED TVs which use CCFL technology, deliver much better black with greater contrast and brighter colors. Contrast is measured by the darkest lit screen area to the area which is the brightest in order to give a contrast ratio.

Spotting the difference

If you thought choosing the Tv just got easier then there are numerous LED options too available in the market. You will find the edge-lit LED and full matrix LED Tv. There is a slight difference though. But it's very important for you to see what the brands these days are using as a backlight choice preference. This is what really matters.

Is it actually an LED TV?

A true-blue LED TV is those huge screens which you usually come across in rock venues, Grand Prix events, and outdoor stadiums. These huge screens consist of thousands of LED lights which are extremely bright. As the LEDs used in these are chunky and large to be used in a TV, they are best used for light sourcing the backlight of LCD crystals. You can call it a mini version of the large screens you come across, using the same backlight and technology.

Common LED Tv problems and their solutions

Common LED Tv problems and their solutions
Televisions are an important home appliance that is used in every household. With so many types of Televisions being around, LED Tv is quite popular. It is a type of LCD Tv that uses LEDs (light-emitting diodes) for backlight instead of CCFLs( cold cathode fluorescent lights). They are commonly known as LED- backlight LCD Tv. But there are some problems that they have. But this blog will help you in resolving those problems.

LED Tv problems and their solutions
·On starting up, the TV has Horizontal lines
This is not the problem of the TV but the set-top box. This can happen if there is a low signal or if your set-top box has not been connected properly. The new TVs require strong signals therefore, it is advisable that you switch to an HD set-top box. This will cure the problem.
·The screen goes blank
In such a case, the power supply unit inside your TV might be having some issues. The power supply unit is the one that is responsible for sending and receiving currents to all the parts of the LED Tv. The sudden rush of input supply can develop some issues in the power supply. By disassembling the TV, you might find some leaking or spotting. These are very common problems and can be repaired easily with the help of a technician.
·Your TV is not getting connected to Wi-Fi
The first and foremost step for you is to find whether the problem is in your Wi-Fi router or your TV. If the TV has no problems with being connected to the hotspot of your mobile then, the router is not working properly. You can restart your router. If the issue is not of signal strength, then you can get a USB Wi-Fi for your TV.
· No sound output on your TV
If there is no sound output, then disconnect your TV from the main switch and switch it on after 10-15 seconds. Then try to connect some other set of speakers with your Tv. If the connection is successful and the speakers start working then, the TV’s internal speaker isn’t working. If the speakers don’t work then, the audio IC which operates the internal speakers is not working and has failed. It’s a common thing with these TV sets. For this, the only solution is a replacement of the audio IC which can be easily done and won’t even take much of your time.
